Random Forest Regression models for Lactation and Successful Insemination in Holstein Friesian cows. 1. Mathematical aspects

چکیده

The random forest regression (RFR) method is applied to study dairy cows’ economical breeding and milk production over- come well-known difficulties in establishing reliable models based on large data sets. Regarding the features of RFR, there are sev- eral positive experiences various areas applications supporting that with one can achieve model predictions for industrial any product providing a useful base decisions. In this study, set compiled over decade about 80,000 cows, was analyzed through RFR. Ranking control parameters obtained, most important explanatory variables found by computing variances target variable sets created during training phases Predictions made calves’ conception high accuracy given data, simulations used investigate prediction accuracy. This primarily concerned mathematical aspects forthcoming article focuses agricultural aspects. results will be compared factor analysis linear future research plans.

Comparison of Different Lactation Curve Models to Describe Lactation Curve in Moroccan Holstein-Friesian Dairy Cows

In this study, the incomplete gamma function, an exponential function, a mixed-log function and a polynomial function were evaluated to describe the lactation curve in Moroccan Holstein-Friesian dairy cows. Data from 1990 to 1999, comprising 77130 monthly milk yields of 6029 dairy cows in 280 dairy herds, were used. Edits were carried out by considering the lactation length (5 d and

Insemination factors affecting the conception rate in seasonal calving Holstein-Friesian cows.

Differences in conception rate to first service between artificial inseminations (AI) carried out by commercial AI operators (CAI) or do-it-yourself operators (DIY), between natural service (NAT) and AI, between different AI sires, and between fresh and frozen-thawed semen, on Irish commercial dairy farms, were studied using logistic regression. The study comprised 12,933 potential first insemi...

Genetic analysis of lactation persistency in the Polish Holstein-Friesian cows*

The objectives of this study were to analyze the genetic properties of three measures of lactation persistency in Polish Holstein-Friesian cows, and possibly to choose one measure which could be used for estimation of breeding value for lactation persistency in the Polish dairy cattle population. Data included 117,327 first three lactations of 110,141 cows calved in 1995-2009. The lactation cur...

Blood metabolic profiles in Uruguayan Holstein and Uruguayan Holstein x New Zealand Holstein-Friesian dairy cows

Blood metabolic profiles were determined from 40 days prepartum to 60 days postpartum in Uruguayan Holstein (UH) (n = 13) and UH x New Zealand Holstein-Friesian first cross (UH-NZHF) (n = 13) cows with seven in each group experiencing their second lactation (L2) and six experiencing their third lactation (L3). Non-esterified fatty acids increased around calving and tended to be greater in UH-L3...
